News Bulletin:

The turkeys have left the building!

I can’t believe that Thanksgiving is over and Christmas is right around the corner.  The students and I had a wonderful time learning and exploring different ways of creating a “turkey” and celebrating Thanksgiving.   The students created:  symmetrical turkeys, 3-D turkeys, Pop-art turkeys, Pilgrim Kids, The Mayflower, etc.   I hope that you enjoyed their projects.   Here are some pictures of your kids in the midst of the creative process.

A- The 6th Graders create their own “Sunflower Paintings”

The sixth grade class discussed and viewed the work of  Vincent Van Gogh.  Van Gogh is famous for layering paints on the canvas.  Students created their on version of  the “Sunflower” painting using the techniques they learned in class.   The kids used a variety of media:  paint, sponges, real leaves, and of course their artistic eye to complete their projects.  I loved how they turned out.
