Platteville’s Art Board funds a field trip to the Dubuque Art Center

Field Trip News from the Art Room

The Platteville Arts Board has generously donated funding so that I can take the 4th Graders to the Dubuqe  Art Center.  I am thrilled to be a member of this board.  I celebrate the fact that the Platteville Arts Board shares my desire to teach and expose children to art.  The field trip is scheduled for  Tuesday, May 11.  We will leave school at 8:30 and arrive back in time for lunch.  Chris Budden has generously offered to drive – thank you.

I am so excited about this field trip.  We will be creating
SPINNING SHAPES.  Inspired by the artist Alex Calder.

Alex Calder was the man who invented the mobile.  The class will learn about him and create their own sculptural mobile filled with shapes made of all different materials!
