2nd Gr.- Mrs. Wedig

Beverly Wedig – 2nd Grade Teacher

Personal Biography

My name is Mrs. Bev Wedig and I teach 2nd grade. My husband, Gerard, and I live in Belmont. We have 4 children. Brenda is 27 and is an optometrist in LaCrosse. Trisha is 25. She and her husband live in Belmont and she is a receptionist for a dentist. John is 23 and works at the mini-mart in Belmont. Kayla is 21 and a senior at UW-LaCrosse.

I belong to St. Philomena Parish in Belmont, and am currently the Altar Society secretary, a lector, and a Eucharistic minister. I taught 3rd grade religious education for 11 years and have been on the Parish Council. I am also on our Guided by the Spirit Committee.

In my free time I like to read, crochet, do jigsaw puzzles, play volleyball and go bowling. I like to spend time with my family, travel, and I am a Brewers and Packers fan.

Education:  I graduated from Belmont High School. I furthered my education at UW-Platteville, with a BS in elementary education and an elementary math minor.

Employment:  I taught at Immaculate Conception in Kieler and St. Joseph in Dodgeville. Then I stayed home with my children and did substitute teaching for 17 years. I’ve been at St. Mary’s since 1999.

Why I teach?  Children are our future. I try to teach them the basics they need and the self confidence to search for whatever they want. I also try to teach them how important God is in their lives.
