Theresa Caccia – 4th Grade Teacher
Personal Biography
My husband Tom and I have been married for 31 years. He is a teacher and coach at PHS. He is a Technology Education teacher. We have a daughter and a son-in-law. They live in Dubuque. Ashley has her BSN and worked 4 years as a pediatric oncology nurse at University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. She recently received her Nurse Practitioner Degree. She will soon begin working with Medical Associates Clinics. Her husband, Paul, is a teacher and coach at Western Dubuque High School. They have been married 2 years.
We are members of St. Mary’s. Through the years we have both served on many committees and commissions. In my free time, I like to read, we belong to the PAC and I spend time walking there most days. We enjoy time spent with family. We have a large extended family, I am the oldest of 8 and Tom has 3 siblings.
Education – I graduated from Iowa-Grant High School and UW-Platteville with an Elementary Degree. I have taken several graduate credits. Employment – I taught at St. Joseph in Dodgeville. Then I stayed home for almost 3 years. Then, I was offered part-time in grades 5-8 here at St. Mary’s. After 7 years of part-time I came to 4th Grade. I have been here for 24 years.
Why I Teach? – Your children are important to me. I want to teach them the skills they need to be successful. I want them to grow in their faith in God. I also try to teach them to be kind children. I love my job which I think is important to the children.
