Ashley Souza – 5th Grade Teacher
Personal Biography
My name is Ashley Souza, and I teach fifth grade. I live in Benton, WI with my dad, Gregory Souza. I have two wonderful sisters who also happen to be my best friends. My younger sister, Lindsay, is 22. She lives in Sun Prairie and works for Madison Orthodontic Centers in Madison as a dental assistant. My youngest sister, Katelyn, is 18. She recently graduated from high school and is attending college at UW-Platteville for a degree in Criminal Justice. I like to play volleyball and softball whenever I can. I love to read and do crossword puzzles. My favorite shows are Wheel of Fortune and America’s Funniest Videos-especially videos with kids and pets. I enjoy being with my family at the cabin on Lake Arbutus the best.
Education: I graduated from Benton High School and UW-Platteville. I earned a degree in Middle Level Education with an Interdisciplinary Minor. Employment: This is my second year of teaching. I taught here at St. Mary’s last year as the upper grade language arts teacher.
Why I teach? Education is an area where I hope to make a positive difference. I enjoy helping students learn and succeed, especially in middle school as there is never a dull moment!
