Lauren Plourde – Physical Education/ Health Education Teacher
Personal Biography
My name is Miss Lauren Plourde and I teach K-8th Physical Education and 8th grade Health Education. I live here in Platteville. Both of my parents are educators as well. My mother is a Guidance Counselor at Monroe High School and my father teaches Special Education at Argyle. I have one brother named Nimmer and a niece named Lilly. I spend my free time reading, swimming, and doing activities outside as much as possible. I also enjoy reading, writing and playing with Lilly. I also work at the Dubuque Community YMCA teaching swim lessons.
Education: I graduated from Monroe High School in 2004. After graduation I attended University of Wisconsin-Platteville for Physical Education. In May of 2009 I graduated from UWP with a Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Education, Health Education as well as certifications in Coaching and Adaptive Physical Education.
Employment: This is my first teaching experience as my own. I am very excited and feel very fortunate having a job! Why I Teach?: I teach because I love it! I believe that there is something that everyone is supposed to do with their life. Teaching is what I am supposed to do. I teach children life skills and how to use those life skills throughout their lives. It is very rewarding to see each student learn something from me. When I see that, I know I am doing what I am supposed to be doing!
