Why Choose Us?

What sets St. Mary School apart from other educational options?

Strong academics and special programs, coupled with our Catholic belief, morals and values. Additionally, we pride ourselves on being an academic, faith and family community.

St. Mary is about shaping mind, spirit and community.  That means, first of all, we are an academic community. Our school is a place where students are provided a sound foundation in the basics, where they are introduced to the arts and sciences, and where they learn the skills necessary for critical thinking in a changing world. Our talented and dedicated faculty is focused on the achievement of our students. Performance on standardized tests and individual academic accomplishment are evidence of the success of these efforts. Expanded programs in science and computer technology are examples of our commitment to continuous improvement in academics.

But more than that, St. Mary is a faith community. It is a place where our Catholic faith, morals and values are communicated to future generations; a place where a love of peace and justice is nourished in the classroom; and a place where the Christian disciplines are lived in word and action. Our students at St. Mary’s are taught religion education, not merely for information, but to strengthen his/her ties with the Heavenly Father. We strive to teach our students to be truthful, honest and just in his dealings with others and to respect authority only as he understands God. Formalized religious instruction and values are not only taught but shown by example. Along with daily prayer and weekly liturgies, special service projects and activities all contribute to the development of the student as an individual and member of the larger community and country.

Likewise, St. Mary is a family community. It is a place where all are welcomed, where the gifts of each person are appreciated, and where the needs of families for day care and extended day programs are met. We strive to serve the needs of your children from preschool through 8th grade. In that endeavor, we have always been fortunate to have the active participation and involvement of our committed parents.

We understand that you have options for the education of your children, and are pleased that you are considering St. Mary School. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our School Principal, Jean Lange (Phone: 608/348-5806, ext. 1001).  Thank you.
